March 2014

Letter from the Director

Happy Spring!

When I think of March, I think of spring, warm rainshowers and rainbows. Each color in the rainbow is unique, and when I get a glimpse of a rainbow after a spring shower, it fills me with happiness. Can you NOT smile when you see a rainbow? I can’t!

rainbowIndividually, the colors represent distinct attributes* –

Red is for warmth, passion, prosperity and joy.

Orange is a healing color and stimulates creativity and enthusiasm.

Yellow is full of intellectual energy, like the energy of a bright sunny day.  Yellow brings clarity and awareness.

Green, an earth color, symbolizes self-respect and well-being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony.

Blue is the coolest color – the color of the sky, ocean, sleep, and twilight. The ancient Egyptians used lapis lazuli to represent heaven.  A pure blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality.

Purple is the color of good judgment. Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color.

Yes, individually, each color is unique and beautiful. But seen full strength, all together in the harmony of a bright swath of color, born from the elements of water and air, they are imbued with glory and significance.  This Easter season, we celebrate the beauty of the world that has been given to us and we celebrate your beautiful and unique children. Thank you for sharing them with us!

To help you in your summer planning, we will be sending out the summer program application and information together with information about Vacation Bible School. After reading the information, please let me know if you have any questions.  Those who sign up for the entire six-week period will be given priority in registration.  After that we will try to accommodate everyone on a “first come-first serve” basis, week by week.

With warm blessings for a Happy Spring,

Jane Walker

La Casa Clothing Drive

It is that time of year!  Start cleaning out your closets.  The Nursery School will be having its annual children’s clothing drive to benefit the La Casa Community Center.  Look for more information to come this month and prepare to donate gently used clothing items and shoes the week of April 28th.  Please set aside  clothing, sizes newborn to 8.  It’s a great way to spring clean and support and wonderful organization.
