January 2016

Letter from the Director

Happy New Year and welcome back to school! I hope that you and your family enjoyed a nice relaxing break and created many wonderful memories together. As we prepare to commit to our resolutions for the new year, let us not forget to reflect on the challenges and gifts of 2015. If we sit down with intent, I am sure that we will realize that many good things worth remembering happened to each and every one of us last year, and  more than a few of the challenges actually turned out to be storm clouds with  silver linings.

We are happy to welcome to our school Augustine Wasef in Mrs. Chang’s class, taking the place of Ryder Smith who moved to Claremont over the break. Over the break, our large play structure enjoyed some TLC as some planks and the bridge were repaired and replaced with rot-proof materials. Thank you to all who have contributed to our Annual fund, as it is your contributions that help to sustain our staff and our structures. Your generosity and commitment to our school is very much appreciated!

I wanted to give everyone a heads up that in March, our school will be emailing each family a School Survey. This survey is required by NAEYC for our accreditation. The survey should not take too much time to complete, and is mandatory in order for us to maintain our very important accreditation. Another reminder will come out closer to the date, but I thought an early notification might help. Please let me know if you have any questions. Your teachers and I are here to help you with and issues, concerns or questions.

Applications for new students are available. Please tell your friends with two and a half-three year olds. Your recommendations are the most meaningful admissions resource we have, and we appreciate your input very much!  Applications can be obtained by filling out information on our website (www.smccnurseryschool.org) or downloading a complete application there, or calling the office to make an appointment for a tour. Returning student applications will be available in late January.

May God shower blessings upon you and your family in 2016!

Annual Fund

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Annual Fund so far this year! We are making great progress towards our goal of raising $10,000. The good news is, that we are accepting donations throughout the whole school year, so you can contribute any time to help with the upkeep and growth of SMCC Nursery School. As always, you can leave your donation in the “Annual Fund” box located outside Mrs. Walkers office. Thank you to the following families for their faithful giving.
