Letter From the Director

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!  We are all looking forward to being back at Nursery School, playing with friends, getting hugs, learning about ourselves and our communities, and so much more.

The teachers and I truly appreciate the outpouring of love during the holiday season.  We are so happy to be able to create the holiday spirit of kindness and friendship at school.  Thank you for your thoughtful and delightful gifts, cards, and photographs.  This holiday season at Nursery School reminded me of how lucky I am to be able to spend it with the ones I love.  What a wonderful time of remembrance, giving, sharing and reflection.  At Nursery School, we made good use of this season to care for others by participating in the Adopt-A Family program with La Casa de San Gabriel, helping our children to learn the true meaning of Christmas – a time to share all that we have to offer others, especially our love.

Our Christmas parties were so much fun.  All of the children and their families enjoyed spending time together in the sanctuary for our sing-along and Christmas story.  Thank you to all of our community members who made the events so heartwarming and special for all.

We’d also like to offer our deepest thanks to the many families that made end-of-year charitable contributions to our Annual Fund.  This is our school’s only fundraiser, and it means so much that so many have contributed.  It is not too late to give – or to give again!  We will be accepting donations through the Winter and Spring months.  Rest assured, your gifts will be put to good use to support and sustain our lively little community!

Many Blessings to all for a happy and safe 2015!

Jane Walker, Director

Adopt-A-Family Program

Thank you for your participation in the true spirit of giving this Christmas!  There was an outpouring of generosity from families at SMCCNS this year.  Collectively, we brought joy and merriment to five local families in need with presents and Target gift cards.

Our next opportunity to donate to our local charity, La Casa de San Gabriel, will be the Spring Clothing Drive.  As you are cleaning out your closets, please begin to set aside used children’s clothing items.
